A Chicago minister says Chief Keef is going to take the plunge into Christianity.
The Rev. Corey Brooks, known as the “rooftop pastor,” says he plans on baptizing the 17-year-old rapper when he’s released from juvenile detention.
Chief Keef is currently serving a 60-day sentence for violating his juvenile probation which was for pointing a gun at Chicago Police officers.
Brook visited Keef at the state juvenile detention facility in west suburban St. Charles and says “I’m going to baptize him,”
The reverand says:
“I think people forget he is 17 years old,” Brooks said. “He is not a bad kid.”
He continues to say that the Chicago native:
“has had a chance to think. He is an entertainer, that is how he sees himself. But at the same time, he has a God-consciousness. He is not some terror who is wreaking havoc.”
Along with his troubles in juvenile court, Keef is also facing a child-support lawsuit from a girl who alleges he fathered a child with her.
Brooks says he plans to baptize Keef at his non-denominational New Beginnings Church in the Woodlawn neighborhood.
