Personality Bio
  • Born in Milwaukee during the fall of 1981, Nalege was introduced to music at an early age.  His father played guitar and sang backup in a band, while his mother constantly played classic rock and R&B on the family’s stereo.  Very outgoing as a child, he began speaking before his first birthday.  Aunts and Uncles remember him singing his favorite songs at holiday gatherings as early as age four, during his “concerts”.

By 1988, he was learning to play the clarinet and saxophone, in addition to being a member of his elementary school’s choir.  He was also a naturally gifted athlete, earning trophies in soccer, baseball, and basketball.  But the young Nalege always dreamed of being an entertainer, and felt that it was his true calling.

Through his early teenage years, he tried learning guitar, bass, and the drums but never found an instrument that he enjoyed playing.  Once his voice cracked, he realized being a singer was out of the question as well.  This was when Nalege the “DJ” was born.  He started making tapes with a classmate, playing songs from the radio while they pretended to be DJ’s.

Entering his sophomore year of high school, he was no longer pretending to be a DJ.  He began hosting house parties and school dances, always making himself the center of attention.  A close friend then introduced him to the turntables, and Nalege finally found an instrument he enjoyed playing.  In early 2001, he joined a popular DJ crew where he hosted parties and events, while perfecting his mixing skills.

Nalege continued to work on his craft in addition to networking with promoters, artists, and other DJ’s.  Soon he landed a spot on a local college radio station, and started to submit his demos throughout the Midwest.  In early 2003 he received an internship at WKKV-FM Milwaukee (Billboard Magazine’s 2006 R&B/Hip-Hop Station of the Year), working as a production assistant.  He was then given a weekend show and also began producing commercials for the station and co-hosting numerous concerts at venues such as the Marcus Amphitheater and the Bradley Center.

As of January 2013, Nalege currently holds a residency at two of Milwaukee’s premier nightclubs, does independent production work, is member of the @OfficialCoreDjs, and is also employed by Clear Channel Radio.
