Lil Wayne revealed the release date and cover art for his forthcoming Tha Carter V, Thursday on ESPN’s SportsCenter.

Following the tradition of past Carter releases, the album cover features a picture of the Young Money rapper when he was a tot along side his mother. Wayne said, “It’s perfect, because I always go with a baby picture and I wanted to go with one with my momma.” Too bad he didn't tell his mom he was using the photo. “I’m sorry moms,” he said “I know personally that she don’t really like that picture of herself."

The fifth installment of Tha Carter is especially meaningful to the rapper. Wayne says, "People been waiting on this album and I’m just at the point in my life and stuff to have my mom on there. It’s more than an accomplishment, it’s an achievement.”

Tha Carter V is set an October 28th release. It features “Krazy” and the Drake-assisted singles “Believe Me” and “Grindin.”

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • The album cover looks cheaply done and unoriginal. How many people are gonna use baby pictures as an album cover?
  • He needs to talk more about the music and content instead of the album art.
