Cam'ron and Ma$e think Drake is winning the ongoing beef between him and Kendrick Lamar.
Following the release of Kendrick's "Euphoria," the hosts of It Is What It Is discussed who's winning so far during their show on Wednesday, May 1. Ma$e started off by declaring Drake the winner of round one. He thought "Euphoria" was cool but it didn't impress him much, especially after KDot waited a couple weeks after Drake dropped "Push Ups."
โDrake is definitely winning from an MC standpoint,โ Ma$e said. โIt took a while for us to get the record from Kendrick and when you wait a while it gotta be outta this world."
โI think Drake is winning," Cam'ron added. "โEuphoriaโ didnโt really move me. Iโm expecting lyrics from Kendrick, youโre expecting certain things. The song was kinda long, it took too long to come out (pause). Iโm not saying itโs bad.โ
The duo along with co-host Stat Baby provided more analysis about Drake and Kendrick's feud while also revisiting their own beef. Ma$e and Cam'ron issues stem back to the '90s when Cam notoriously dissed Ma$e in the music video for "Horse & Carriage." After they spent the past two decades dissing one another on wax, the duo finally put their past behind them and launched their new sports talk show.
โIโm not saying this rap beef going on isnโt interesting and entertaining, but when we was doing rap disses โ and not just me, Iโm saying in general โ people had the potential to die or get seriously hurt and I just donโt feel that in these battles," Cam said. "Iโm not promoting this. Iโm happy that nobody will get hurt, hopefully. But it just felt dangerous. This doesnโt feel like a dangerous atmosphere to me.โ
